Unique US trio SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE have released two new tracks, ‘SOMETHING’S ENDING’ & ‘I’VE BEEN EVIL’. The pair of tunes are packaged together both musically and visually, and essentially act as a setup and resolution to each other. The first part is a quiet, peaceful introduction that lures the listener in with an atmospheric sonic landscape. The second half is subtly menacing, with hushed vocals at its core over shifting guitars. On the video that accompanies both tracks, director Kelsea Dakota Larson explains: “We took the titles literally, and wanted to highlight the darkness that can be right under your nose in a beautiful little mountain town, or anywhere really, while outsiders carry on.” The band’s upcoming album, YOU’LL HAVE TO LOSE SOMETHING, is due to be released on August 23rd, 2024. -Dan Peeke
